For our Swiss customer located in Basel we are currently looking for (m/f) an Technician for Instrument Stream of Laboratory Automation

  • Type of placement:  11 months, external contract with possible long term extension
  • Company:  major Pharma company in Basel area
  • Salary:  level 1-2 , please ask us for the exact rate range 

IT: (monthly all in salary levels in CHF,  level1= 5-10k , level2=10-15k,  level3= >15k)

Our customer is looking for a Technician for the ALEX project. ALEX is our customer´s new Automated Laboratory Execution System. It is a worldwide initiative to innovate our customer´s Biologics & Small Molecule laboratories over the next 4 years. ALEX represents the future of our lab workplace. Aim of this project is to transfer manual tests in QC laboratories from "paper" to an electronic system in regards to have automation. 

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Responsible to support global project scheduling (global timelines)
  • Manage implementation documentation (plan/checklist/report), including prioritization
  • Coordinate and support site-team activities, involving subject matter experts (SMEs), the global and the local IT teams as appropriate
  • Coordinate and support the QC/LES method/template development activities
  • Coordinate escalation of challenges and questions
  • Travel max. 20 % to all QC site possible (tbd during the project)
  • Working together with Alex team

  • Remote: Possible 1 day per week, later more but the first 3 months at least onsite
  • Travel: Possible up to 10-20% to other sites (Shanghai, Hongkong, Penzberg, Mannheim etc.)
  • Department: FPPQ (Pharma Informatics, Laboratory Instrument Data Management)

Must Haves

a) Technical Skills / Specialized IT: 

  • Experience with instrument landscape of laboratories in Pharma environment
  • Experience with Laboratory Informatics
  • Experience with Quality Standards in Pharma industry (GxP, CSV)
  • Experience with LES best nuGenisis from Waters highly preferred (see link on the chat message)
  • NuGenesis toolbox experience for data handling
  • Experience with protocols for data transmission
  • Experience with regular expressions
  • LIMS ATLAS/LABWARE hands-on experience
  • LABX, SDS hands-on experience
  • General IT: RS 232, Excel, Software development base knowledge, ITIL

b) Non Technical Skills: 

  • Team Player
  • Great customer focus skills and attention to details (proactive, communicative and a “thinker”)
  • Proactive investigation of issues and functionalities that may be required
  • Great communication skills (excellent English language skills)
  • Great team player
  • CSV background and experience in working with IT Quality
