Senior AWS OS/VM Specialist (m/f/d)

Tasks & Responsibilities
An AMI builder Engineer must be capable to create Linux and Windows AMI in automated fashion, integrating AWS services with external tools such as GitLab or jFrog Artifactory. Comfortable in designing, building, deploying, and operating EC2 Instances made out of our custom AMIs.
- Ability to build custom and hardened Amazon Machine Images and responsible for systems functionality, performance and configuration issues.
- Configure platform agents and introduce system automation to perform Unit, Functional, Compliance and Performance tests
- Strong experience with the administration of Linux servers, Virtual Machines and Networks using automated configuration management tools (Bare-metal, private data-centre and Cloud)
- Ability to automate manual tasks with scripts and other tools
- Strong understanding of TCPIP, Linux OS and Process automation

Must Haves
Programming:
- Python / golang / ruby / perl and testing frameworks
- Bash and Powershell advanced scripting
- Experience developing command-line and standalone applications
OS / VM (EC2):
- Experienced in Debian or/and Redhat + derivates (Ubuntu, Amazon Linux, CentOS) – Solid understanding of Unix/Linux systems
- OS/Kernel tuning, configuration, upgrades and patch management – Linux and Windows
- Configuration management and advanced scripting / Git and SCM
- AMI Builder tools and OS testing frameworks (ansible, packer, inspec) / RPM and DEB packaging systems
- AWS command cli and Boto3 – Document system configurations and how-tos
- Advanced OS package management (apt, yum) and their repository management
Performance and Analysis:
- Able to produce consistent workload and analyse system behavior
- OS Tuning / Monitoring
- Put system under stress and collect results
- Define performance KPI and Metrics
Cloud Computing and its core technologies:
- Cloud computing ecosystem and Cloud Native Application (preferably AWS)
- Experience with Microservices and Event-driven architectures (producers, consumers, event-channels)
- Security in the Cloud by using AWS native services or 3rd party tools (Dome9, Tenable)
- Serverless Architectures (Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, Step-Functions, ECS, EKS)
- AWS base service experience (EC2, AMI, S3, IAM, VPC, EBS) and Container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, EKS, ECS)
- Infrastructure-as-Code and related tools
CI/CD:
- Design and implementation of Jenkins or GitLab pipelines
- Produce build in automated fashion by reducing the manual tasks
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle,
- Coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
Troubleshooting:
- Perform root-cause analysis for incidents and service interruptions (Mostly running OSes and CI Pipelines)
